Anne Desmond, died Tuesday afternoon January 31, 2012 (on her 91st birthday) at the Golden Leaves Living Center in Newberry where she received kind and loving care for the past six years.
After graduation from high school, Anne worked at the Mystic Stamp Company in Camden, N.Y. She married Laurence Desmond in 1951 and became a homemaker. She had many talents and interests including sewing and tailoring, which she also taught, and her specialty was wedding gowns. Anne was of the Methodist faith and deeply loved her family and friends.
She is survived by daughters Karen (John) McKay of Naubinway and Laurie (Steve) Bender of Sherman Oaks, CA; sister-in-law Lucille (Harold) Bovee of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; grandchildren Michelle Mork of Midland and Mitzie Hewitt of Traverse City, MI; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Anne is preceded in death by her husband Laurence Desmond, parents Edward and Bertha Bovee; daughter Kathleen Priddy; siblings Edward Bovee, Harold Bovee, Eunice Brosius, Pauline Relyea and Ruth Kirch.
Per request, cremation services were accorded. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
