Geraldine P. Carroll, 85, of McMillan, died Thursday afternoon March 22, 2012 at Golden Leaves Living Center in Newberry.
Born March 3, 1927 in Manistique, daughter of the late Frank & Laura (Ballore) Generou, Geraldine moved to McMillan at the age of seven and was a 1944 graduate of McMillan High School. She was employed at the former Newberry Regional Mental Health Center for 23 years, retiring in 1982. Geraldine loved to dance, cook, sew and was an accomplished artist creating many oil paintings as gifts for her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Lorraine Hanes, Elaine "Ole" Miller, Stanley "Sonny" Generou, Vernon "Pug" Generou and Maxine Williams; niece Karen and nephew George.
Survivors include her daughter Markeeta (Hutchison) Graban of Ypsilanti; grandchildren Bryan (Elisa) Graban of Atlanta, GA and Kristin Graban of Ann Arbor; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Per her request, cremation services were accorded. Rite of Committal services will take place at a later date at the Columbus Township Cemetery in McMillan.
