William "Bill" G. Arneth
(June 22, 1941 - September 26, 2007)

U.S. Veteran Lifelong Newberry resident, William G. Arneth, 66, died Wednesday morning September 26, 2007 at his residence under the loving care of his family and North Woods Hospice.

Born June 22, 1941 in Newberry, son of the late George & Bertha (Johnson) Arneth, Bill was a 1959 graduate of Newberry High School. He served in the United States Army from November 29, 1961 until his honorable discharge on November 11, 1963. Bill was employed for 27 years at the Village of Newberry D.P.W. retiring as superintendent in 1995. He also worked at the Co-op as a butcher. Bill was an avid sports fan, especially the New York Yankees, enjoyed trout fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Bill was also a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Besides his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his half brother George, grandbabies Max, Savannah and Chase and step-granddaughter Corin.

Survivors include his loving wife, the former Diane Bennett, whom he married November 14, 1964 in Grand Marais; sons Jeffrey (Margaret) and William (Tara) all of Newberry; daughters Dawn (Milton) Baldwin and Theresa (Cliff) all of Newberry and Denise (Steve) of Fort Walton Beach, FL; grandchildren Drake, Haley and Brayden.

At request, cremation services were accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday September 29, 2007 from 2-4 pm at the Arneth residence on 311 West Helen, Newberry.
