Walter J. Walter J. "Jack" Glascock III
(January 2, 1937 - December 27, 2012)

U.S. Veteran Walter John (Jack) Glascock III was born January 2, 1937 and died of heart disease on December 27, 2012. He married Betty Ann (Hill) Glascock June 27, 1959. Jack graduated from Michigan State University, Lansing, MI., with degrees in Economics and Business Administration, and the U. S. Naval Officer Candidate School, Pensacola, FL. He then served four years in the U. S. Navy. After receiving his Honorable Discharge as Lt. J.G., Jack was employed in purchasing at Toledo, Ohio, then in the home office of the Johns Manville Corp., Denver, CO., where he retired as Purchasing Manager in 1991. Jack moved to Naubinway, MI. with his wife, Betty Ann, in 1992 where he spent twenty years of retirement in their home on Lake Michigan. He was a Trail Blazer (forty + years) member of the Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club (HSC), Engadine, MI., where he loved to bird hunt and served on many HSC Committees. He was also a member of All Saint’s Episcopal Church, Newberry, MI., a member of the Seney Natural History Association and served hundreds of hours at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, Seney, MI., and a member of the American Legion, Post 290, Engadine, MI., where he served as Adjutant and Membership Chairman.

Jack was the loving husband of Betty Ann (Hill) Glascock of Naubinway, MI.; loving father of Jay Derek Glascock and daughter-in-law, Jeryl Lynn (Rosenberger) Glascock, of Woodbridge, VA.; and Kimi Christine (Glascock) Pitcock of Littleton, CO.; and the loving grandfather of Samantha Lyn Glascock and Joshua James Glascock of Woodbridge, VA., and Anna Christine Pitcock and John Wayne (J. W.) Pitcock of Littleton, CO. He also leaves behind his sister, Ginger Gaye (Glascock) Hyde, brother-in-law, Michael Hyde, and sister-in-law, Jane McCraken Glascock.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter John Hodgkin Glascock II; his mother, Ruby Florence (Burkland) Glascock; and his brother, Todd Lionel Glascock.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday June 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Naubinway Cemetery with Reverend Cheri Ford officiating.
